2011 Rules & Regulations:
In case of a printing error and/or omission on this registration form, the rules and regulations of the NSA (National SloPitch Athletic) rulebook will apply.
1.Person starting the team must reside or own property at one time in the town of St. Charles, Dunnet Corner or West-Arm area or the person starting the team had an ancestor/relative that originally resided or owned property in St. Charles area.
(The person starting the team can use his family’s relatives up to the 4th cousin and his/her spouse relatives up to the 4th cousin.) This includes the relatives on your husband’s/wife’s side of the family.
2. ADOPTED PLAYERS: You are allowed up to two (2) adopted players if required. The team is responsible to pick their own adopted player. If your adopted player has played for 5 years with your team he/she is now considered family. You are only allowed one adopted player to be considered family. This player will be subject to approval before he/she is allowed to be considered as family.
3. Release Form: All players will be required to sign a release form before the start of their 1 game. Only players signing the release form will be allowed to play. Captains please advise your players. This sheet will be completed at your 1 game.
4. Any player, coach or anyone associated with the team, abusing the officials and/or other players could be thrown out of the game. The umpire chief & committee will rule after the game to determine if the player/coach is out of tournament, suspended and/or banned for the next game/ tournament.
It is the team’s responsibility to check the board to see if their game has been rescheduled and or corrections made to another time due to rain or corrections.
6. ALL TEAMS must be ready to play 15 minutes before their scheduled time.
The captain is responsible for having his players on the field.
If the team is not available to play their game 15 minutes before their schedule time, they will forfeit the game.
7. Regular games are 1 hour long with at least four innings played.
There is a mercy rule of 7 runs in one inning. The only exception to this rule will be the last inning of the game. No new inning will be started after the 50 minute mark. Captains make sure you are aware of the starting game of your game and verify the starting time of your game with the umpire.
Semi-finals and Final game will be 7 complete innings.
Three (3) games will be guaranteed.
If we cannot complete all games on Sunday, they will be completed on Monday, August 1st at 9:00 a.m.
9. If after four (4) complete innings and the Home Team is winning and the game is called for time limit, the home Team WILL NOT plays their last bat. We only use the scores up to the 4th inning (for runs for andagainst.).
2011 Rules & Regulations:
10. Pointing system for standings the same as last year. (formula % for runs for and against).
11. Game can start with any number of players except you will have 1 out for each player missing up to 10. No 15-minute of grace allowed as you can start a game with less than 10 players.
Courtesy runner will be accepted at the discretion of the umpire. Courtesy runner will be the last-out.
13. A strike does not eliminate the balls.
14. A batter can be walked automatically by telling the umpire-If you walk the designated home run hitter it is considered a home run.
15. For safety reasons-if a batter hits the ball within the safety line of the pitcher’s mount the batter will be automatically out.
16. First batter in each inning to hit a home run will be your designated home run batter for that inning. If any other player hits a home run in that inning-OUT.
17. There will be a line between 3rd and home plate. If runner passes this line he /she are committed to run.
Runner touches home plate-he/she is out. Catcher is not to “tag” the runner.
If the catcher catches the ball and is on home plate before runner passes the line by the batter's box, the runner will be out. Catcher is not to “tag” the runner. If the catcher “tags” the runner, the runner is “safe” and the catcher could be out of the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. The run will not count.
The runner is not to touch home plate. The home plate belongs to the catcher. If runner touches home plate he/she is out. If the runner runs into the catcher, the runner could be out of the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. The run will not count.
18. All your players on the registration form can be on your batting line-up.
One player can bat the first part of the game and then be substituted by another player sitting on the bench.
19. A player who is absent at the beginning of a game can be put on the batting line up but once you have reached his name-players name will be removed and not be permitted to enter the game except to bring the total to 10.
20. A pitcher will be allowed to switch during an inning at any time. If the relieving pitcher is from the bench, the pitcher that is being replaced has to go to the bench.
21. Players can be changed in and out of the field after every inning but not during the inning. The only exception will be for injury and the umpire feels that the injured player cannot continue to play.
